Cam should work ok with stock heads. Yes you can change cam with engine in car, but radiator and A/C have to come out. Best to get someone experienced to supervise if your first cam swap.
Don't forget to get a good quality distributor with both mechanical and vacuum advance. The distributor gear needs to match your cam gear.

Re: whats your opinion?

If your car is an 88' shouldnt you be looking for a roller cam rather than a flat tappet?

+1 Vega. also, in my opinion, that cam is too big for a stock converter. if going to a carb, get a fuel pressure regulator. do you plan on getting a different ignition, like h.e.i.? not too sure the computer would be able to work with a cam that big?
