Engine bay melt down.

This is how I bought it. I have a meltdown situation in the front passenger side of a 85 Z28. I've tried to repair the melted wires and have the vent fans working. The main unit that is melted in the picture.............what is it? should I replace it? How do I replace it?

Also what is the fitting on the front of the unit? Where does it go?

Thanks for any advice,

JimJ

Re: Engine bay melt down.

you got your blower motor (unit on the left) the AC unit ( Right ). The fitting in the front of the canister just needs to be capt.

Good Rescue on the car by the way.
It's worth the work.

Thanks for the information. The AC housing looks the worst. Is it hard to replace?

No...Just find a ac/heater box in the junkyard and replace it. Relatively straight forward. Damage isn't as bad as it looks. Thank you for saving her!
