Ive used one for one of the studs for a motor mount on my old saturn. Also was used on aluminum. Worked well.

Not sure what a "Heli-core" is, never heard of any such....
But I've used about 3 pounds of Heli-Coils on everything from heads (intake, exhaust, and rocker stud threads), to transmissions, water outlets, misc accessory bolts, carbs, blocks, and about every other chunk of metal imaginable. Plus, on power equipment, pumps, cooking utensils, boats, production-line machinery, .... I'm sure you get the drift.
