Cruise Control Cable broke

Hey guys,

I'm not sure how yours are set up, but on the cruise control on my 84 TA quit working because the tiny ball chain the hooks the cable to the solenoid broke. The way mine is set up, my cruise solenoid is connecte to the throttle by a cable. For about 3", From the end of the cable to the solenoid, there is a tiny ball chain that links the cable to the solenoid.

Well, the ball chain physically broke off of the cable and I don't know how to repair it. If the ball chain itself had broken, no problem, shorten the links a bit and re-hook it up, but since it broke off of the cable, I've nothing to hook onto. I hope to have a picture posted tonight or tomorrow, but does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
