So I bought this oil dipstick will it fit?

Car: 1988 Camaro, Holley 600 series.
Engine: 350 w/350 TPI heads
Transmission: 90+ 700R4
Axle/Gears: not sure
So I bought this oil dipstick will it fit?

UGH.. the joys of ordering from the lowest source on the internet. They sent me a 82-85 oil dipstick. My car is an 88 will this dipstick fit on my car considering there all third gens? I mean.. it looks pretty similar.

Since any engine could bei n any car at this point...

Just look at it and see. If it'a short job, like 4-6 inches tall, it mounts into the head deck surface and the dipstick goes through the block all the way to the pan. If it's really long, it mounts into the side of the block nearly at the oilpan. Just see which version your block has. I think there was another variant, but those are the two most common I think.

ok.. Its pretty long. Im going to do a complete oil change and then see if it reads right so hopefully it does and ill be happy. Thanks for your help.

The long ones are stock for the later model third gens, so hopefully it is correct for you. Look down the side of the block on the passenger side and see if you can see the boss for it. Look above the starter area.
