hood release issue.

Car: 86 Iroc + 83 Firebird
Engine: Iroc 305 TPI, Firebird 305 4bbl
Transmission: 700r4 in both.
Axle/Gears: Iroc 3.27 Firebird 3.23
hood release issue.
hey all, 86 camaro. just recently if u pull the hood release and go to pop the hood it wont open. if u have someone hold the release (interior one), u can open the hood.. any ideas?

Clean, adjust(if needed) and oil the latch. No WD-40 either use a light motor oil
