Cross reference on fuel tank?

This may be a silly question, but are there any fuel tanks besides what came in the 82-92 Camaros/Firebirds that will work in a 87 GTA with the 5.7 TPI? Also, is it possible to use a tank from a V6 car? Thanks for any help.

Re: Cross reference on fuel tank?

Except for some fuel cells I do not know of any other tank that will fit. Any other tank would require modifications to make work including fuel cells. However a V6 tank is the same a a V8 tank and can be used just by changing the fuel pump. (I have heard that the V6 pump is supposed to be the first step up in pumps for the V8's but I doubt that.) I would reuse my original one or buy another proper pump. Either way the fuel injected sending units are the same just a different fuel pump. I believe that even the carbed tanks will work with a fuel injected sending unit put in place.
