im about to buy my first camaro and i want to make it a 355 and bore it .030 over. any suggestions for what i should do to make a quick and moderately loud street legal car?

The extra 5 cubic inches is irrelevant in the overall scheme of things. You bore an engine to clean up the cylinder walls, not to increase the displacement.

"Quick" is cam, exhaust (headers, high-flow cat & cat-back), gears, torque converter (if auto transmission). What else depends upon the induction you have - if it was 350 from the factory, it's TPI, but there are still more things we need to know before continuing the list (like the year).

"Loud" is also irrelevant. I outrun louder cars all the time (at the track, of course). Loud keeps you from hearing something going wrong before it goes catastrophic.

And, this isn't really about Engine Swaps, either.

 

Why do people think that just because an engine is bored out it becomes a race car? Its amazing how often I hear people bragging about how there stock 350 with a .60 over bore is a beast.
