obd1 to obd2 adapters and torque app???

I just found out that they make an obd1 to obd2 adapter. And I already have a Bluetooth reader and torque app which work perfectly. I was wondering if anyone has tried this? Also I don't have a clue which thread this should be under if anyone knows. Thanks!

Re: obd1 to obd2 adapters and torque app???

There's more to the difference between OBD1 and OBD2, than an "adapter".

For one thing, the data rate of the one is a tiny fraction of the other: about like surfing the Net on dial-up compared to cable, and trying to watch a movie.

For another, the OBD1 computer itself, apart from the comm link, is SUPER OLD and slow and obsolete, and is JUST BARELY enough to do what it has to do to push the car down the road. I don't know if you had a computer in 1986; but if you did, and it still works, hook it up NOW and try to surf the Net with it. The difference between your old Stone Age relic and a modern ECM is somewhat similar.
