Speed buffer?

Ordered a used ecm for my 88 Iroc (305 tpi w auto) from eBay... It came with speed buffer mounted to the bracket... There wasn't one in my ECM that I took out.... Do I need it?

Got it.... I'll just install the ECM and not worry bout it then.... Just hope it starts!
