Torque spec

Does anybody know what is the torque spec for carb to intake. Should I use lock tight ????

Axle/Gears: Open 2.73 10 bolt w/ drums

The Haynes manual says 11ft-lbs for the short bolts (rear) and 7ft-lbs for the tall bolts (front).
