I have the same issue......the one on the left looks like the radiator fan switch connector which is located under the passenger side exhaust manifold near the dipstick on my 305.....the other looks like it could be temperature sender switch for the gauge which is located under the drivers side manifold. Are they hanging around in those areas?

The one on the right does indeed look like it could be a temp sensor.. here's mine between cylinder #1 and #3 on the drivers side head. Similar but not the exact same...

The radiator fan switch wire should be green w/white stripe.

Re: My 2 mystery wires. Any ideas?

The green wire one goes to the temp sending unit for the gauge, in the driver's side head. Exactly what BLT's pic is.

The blue wire one is for the knock sensor; block drain plug, pass side, exactly halfway back on the block, just above the oil pan rail, about even with the starter end plate.

Awesome thanks for the reply guys! I found where both of them go. Finally got my car started today after sitting for about 2 months because of a blown head gasket. Started up first time but idled at 4k.WTF? adjusted the timing to 8* and she's good to go
