Aluminum Intake Vortech Heads

I am anxious to see if anyone else has tried this intake. My son bought a aluminum dual plane intake from Summit, I don't see any numbers on it. It has 4 inserts for the 2 center bolts on each side of the intake. If you pull these inserts the 4 holes are oval instead of round. I was told I could use this intake on my 89 roller 350 when I add my vortech heads. Was told just leave the inserts out. Has anyone had any dealings with this. The intake has been sitting in the shop and is brand new. Just getting ready to change my heads and add the lt4 cam and springs.

Re: Aluminum Intake Vortech Heads

That's not a "Vortec" adaptation; that's the one for adapting 87-up heads to a 86-back intake, or vice-versa. Not the slightest connection to "Vortec".

For the 87 up head do you use the inserts or without.
