Anyone know what this is?? Do i need it?? How can i bypass it?? I have a 82 pontiac firebird with computer controlled carburetor, 305 engine. I see 2 big hoses coming from the carburetor, 1 small hose into the pcv hose, and the other small hose going into another port in the carburetor... I dont think this part came with the car.. cause i dont see anywhere it may have bolted to or maybe its aftermarket for something that was factory at one time. I took the best pictures i could to show you how it was hooked up.. but of course it may not be hooked up right but this was the way i found it hooked up. Any help would be helpful. Thanks

Looks like the vapor control valve for the charcoal canister purge system.

i think your right.. i found some pictures of the vapor control valve and they match the application for my car.. next i need to find how to hook up the vaccum hoses to it the right way... any one know??
