I know this question been asked a million and one time but, does the oil pan have to be removed, if so how high does the engine have to go up to get to the seal
I have long tube header and really don't feel like removing them again
Thanks
Chris

no, you don't have to remove the pan.

Don't have to remove the pan, but you do have to remove the transmission.

i was looking at this too when i was checking mine, im guessing your car is leaking oil? before you do that check the distrubitor gasket, mine seemes to have been leaking oil from there, not sure if that IS the problem but it was fresh oil that was around it soo.. i will have to see once i get my head gaskets changed and heads back on.
No I already rebuilt the motor but the seal is leaking, maybe I did not get it right the first time
