Getting ready to install new engine - advice?
I installed the new torque converter and have the trans bolted up, getting ready to put the assembly in. Just wondering what other parts I want to install while the engine is out of the car and I have easy access to it all the way around?
Right now, it's just basically the long block. I have Dyno Don's shorty headers, not sure if I can install those and then put the engine in or if they have to be put in after the engine is in place?
I don't have any of the pumps or pulleys or brackets on, no starter, no plugs, etc. I think I can get to everything relatively easy (I'm doing the work at a garage so the car is on a lift) but no sense in making my job more difficult by not installing something now.

If you have a tall engine hoist and/or lift the back end of the car up higher when you're installing the engine (to basically get the engine at a really steep angle compared to the rest of the car) you can install it with all the accessories bolted to the front of the engine.

Bump - looking for advice on the header install. Can they go on now, or do I have to wait until the engine is in the car?
