Fuel Pump Question

Looking to replace the stock fuel pump. Is it possible to get a fuel pump that will help add performance- power/torque? If so, is there other considerations to think about if making a change to a high-performance pump versus a stock pump (law of unintended consequences applying?) Is it worth the price difference?

Current setup:
1984 TA
L69 HO V-8
New/Remanfctr Q-Jet
Everything else stock as well.

Thanks!
Chuck

not really, you can only burn x amount of fuel. having said that if the stock pump isnt supplying enough fuel and or pressure then yes. with your set up a stock pump is plenty IMO

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Air is what limits engines, not fuel.

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Additional air --- Makes sense, I guess I thought if you operate at WOT with the secondaries fully open that a possible impedence to additional performance would be a lack of adequate fuel pressure from a stock pump that may be limited in pressure output, because it's "just" stock. So apparently from what has been said ..... for a stock engine like mine, the stock fuel pump is adequate.

Re: Fuel Pump Question

Even for many non-stock engines a stock fuel pump is more than enough.
