400sbc build...

SO i am planning my 400 build, i have a complete 400 2 bolt. Im can not make up my mind what heads to run. i have thought about vortecs and RHS vortecs, brodixs ik's, iron eagles, and e-tecs. I will have my mind set on one and then start leaning another way. What heads have anyone else used? Im not shooting for mad power, nor stock. i want some rock your head back, import smoker power. I guess i set my goal around 400, if i get 375, i wouldn't be dissapointed, if i got 470, hell yeah. And im not going on a strict buget on this build, however im not gonna spent 2000 on heads. i have thought about AFR, but...thinking about the 1000 area... I am replacing everything on the engine, after it is sent to the machine shop. and...has anyone heard of or ran ohio rotating assemblies? thats what the machine shop here is trying to get me to run, i haven't heard of them or know anyone who has, i saw on the net it said...Made in CHINA, so unless im wrong, im staying away from it. Anyone?

Go search my old Best Builds thread, it's in the Engine Swap sub-forum. Everything you need to know to get 525 HP from a 400 using dart 180 cc heads and a streetable cam.

Re: 400sbc build...

Also Atilla, what is the specs on that cam? all i can find is that it is a specail grind, i can't find its duration or anything. i only know its lsa cuz of what you said. i also cannot find it on the comp web site. Will the outcome change alot if i were to go with a competitors cam of similar specs? Sorry, i am fairly new to the performance building aspecs of engines.
