Help with wiring harness
I'm not too familiar with engines harnesses as this is my first build. I pretty much learn on the fly as I go. Most of the time I get the info I need here on TGO.
I have 92 Camaro that has the TBI wiring harness but the car is getting implanted with a carbed motor and the AC has been removed. I have a few questions that if can be answered woukd save me a lot of time.
1. The smaller harness in the middle of the firewall, can I tuck that back In the firewall because it is used for ac, which I dont have? Are there any wires needed from this harness needed tk run the heater, which I'm keeping?
2. The harness coming out on the passenger side. What will I need from this and what can I get rid of?
3. The driver side harness is much larger and has alot of different wires going everywhere. I can make out the alternator, headlights and side mArker lights, as well as battery connections. What do I do with all the rest of the wires? I Would imagine I could remove or hide many of these wires but don't want to mess it up before asking for help.
4. Also, inside the main harness on the driver side the harness connects into an outlet in the firewall and leads into the compartment. Inside the heavy connection, there seems to be a lot of a grease-like substance. Is that supposed to be there, or is that a problem?
Thank you for your time and yur help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with wiring harness
Sounds like you are having same of the same issues. I have been trying to find a good wiring diagram and haven't had any luck so if you do please post a link or pics, the last guy under the hood of my 86 should not have been there he made a big mess. I can let you know atleast the grease is supposed to be there it's dielectric grease you can pick up at the parts store I would clean it out and put new stuff in along with all the connections and spark plug boots it keeps out moisture.
