Charcoal canister is full of fuel-input needed
Hi everyone,
On my '92 Trans Am, 305 TPI, I recently pulled a code 45 (rich exh.) when my SES light came on. After changing plugs and o2 sensor, both of which were were black and sooty and finding a disconnected vacuum line, I still had a rough idle after the car ran a few miles. I pulled the charcoal canister this afternoon and it is completely full of fuel. Has anyone else ran into this and if so, how can I correct it? Could it be that the tank vent is bad and fuel is being pushed to the canister? Also, there was a lot of pressure on the gas cap when I loosened it after driving only 15-20 miles. I checked my FSM and also did a TGO search and found nothing exactly like this. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Charcoal canister is full of fuel-input needed
I have a lot of pressure on my tank after I drive for 10 miles or so also. I removed my charcoal canister a long time ago and plugged the tube. With the exception of the tank pressure, I haven't had any other adverse effects on drive-ability though. I am open for any input from other members. Mine is an 89 GTA with the 350 TPI.
