P/S Hose Adapter?
I can't seem to buy or do anything so far without screwing something up...
My old P/S pump was leaking, so I bought a new one from Summit. The outlet is 5/8"-18. Didn't think much of that...until today, when I went to install my new P/S high-pressure hose which has a 16-mm male o-ring fitting on it. Obviously, it doesn't fit into my pump (which I think is just a standard flare fitting but I guess I don't know).
Anyway, not sure if I can but some type of male-to-female adapter or if I need to have a hose made or what. Any advice is appreciated.

That piece that the hose screws into, is removeable and interchangeable.
Just swap it from your old pump to your new one.

Ah. I did not know that and I should have, seeing as how it has a big nut around it
My old pump (and the hose) were in pretty bad shape, very rusty and leaky. Am I going to have to worry about any leaks by swapping this? Is that piece (the insert) something I can buy separate if my old one is shot?

That little piece is the pressure regulator... not easy to replace. But they hardly ever go bad other than by ham-handed destruction.
You can get a new hose at any parts store. Maybe $20 or so, not too painful. I HIGHLY recommend doing that, so your new pump stays clean and all, instead of becoming encased in PS fluid grime, when your hose finishes giving out (as they all inevitably do).

Yep, got my new hose from Autozone. Old one was pretty much destroyed.
I'll swap the regulator from the old pump to the new one (carefully) and hopefully be good to go.
Thanks for the quick response.
