Speedo Cable
I am trying to clean my speedometer cable and then lubricate it, but I am having trouble disconnecting it from the transmission. I cant seem to find any pictures or a detailed walk through. It's an 83 CFI T/A
Also will transmission oil leak once disconnected?

Re: Speedo Cable
No, fluid will not leak.
Not sure where you could possibly be having trouble, or how it can be anything but obvious and easy... there's a big knurled ring that holds it to the driven gear housing, rotate that CCW about 6 turns, and pull on the cable. Installation is the reverse of removal. Not too tough really.

Re: Speedo Cable
Sounds easy enough. I tend to over think everything and I cant afford to mess up. Thank you for the quick response too
