Lol, you want a 5.0 to be smooth and quiet. If it's 20 years old it isn't going to be smooth, and a v8 muscle car certainly will NEVER be quiet. Turn your timing back to the right about half an inch, if not a full inch.

it idled high and you turned it counter clockwise adding more advance? Turn it back and get a timing light

Help Help Help Car over heated!!!!!!

You replace on thing on a neglected car and all hell breaks loose.
Any way i was letting it warm up for 20 minutes.
standing over the motor making sure everything sounded ok and such....

Then i start hearing this shhhhhh sound looking at it i saw bubbles and water leaking slowly out.
I look at the temp gauge its maxed out...................
Long story shorter, Turn out the radiator fan doesnt kick on any more.
I called napa and asked if the water temp sencor can cause this and they said possibly??? like he was confused.
He also said theres a fan switch.

Which dignostics and tests should i do to fix my issue?
Before i start buying and replacing parts not needed to be.
Because im to damn broke
