Hey everybody

I just got a new camaro rs originally a tbi 5.0 car, and it has a 350 block swap from a caprice police interceptor, but all of the original 5.0 wiring and tbi injection and everything.

Was sitting for a year and a half. but has oil in it and fluids, but we topped em off just to see if it would start up, put a battery in it, and it cranked really healthy, and we were getting spark, and tried starting fluid as well, and pouring some gas down the tbi, and it wouldn't fire. We were thinking maybe a timing issue perhaps at first.

This still may be true, but after closer investigation there was no ecu in the car!!

So I ordered a ecu from autozone for the car, and there was no prom in the ecu, so that pretty much put us at finding a salvaged one, called around and found an ecc out of a 90 camaro rs tbi 5.0 like mine, but 90 and now i'm noticing that theres a different ecc number on the website for 88 and 90

the one for 88 is 8063 where as the one for the 90 I have is classified as an 8746

Will the 8746 out of the 90 work with my 88 wiring harness ( same pins, identical in design, same type of circuitry on the board and everything I know it will plug up, but would it work??

The objective is just to get the car running, i know i'm probably going to have to get a different chip in the future with a couple of other things as well to have it running at optimum but will it work?

Should I buy the 8063 ecm from autozone and put the prom from the 8746 out of the 90 in the new ecu for the 88?
