69 Chevy 350 to T5 trans... What starter?
So I have rebuilt my starter a couple times, but it is totally worn now... It has no numbers on it to identify what it is, but it does not match up with a typical early 80s starter made for the car... The bolt pattern is different either different or the nose doesn't fit into the bellhousing. Any advice?

The engine block shouldn't make much difference, other than how much shimming you may need to do. I understand that there are some minor differences between early and late blocks that can require using more shims on a later block. I suppose this same difference could cause an issue installing a later starter on an earlier block. You may need to try a starter for an earlier model car with manual transmission.
Generally speaking, Chevy blocks either have 2 bolt holes or 3. The blocks with three holes can take a starter for either a 168 tooth(offset bolt holes) or 153 tooth(parallel bolt holes) flywheel. The problem you are running into would then most likely be interference with the trans bellhousing. Are you trying to run a 168 tooth flywheel in a bellhousing that is sized for a 153 tooth? Are you getting the right starter for the manual trans?
