Swapping camelbacks for new heads performance
I'm currently running a 327 with camel back heads, mild cam (don't know specs), offenhauser single plane manifold and an edelbrock 750 carb. I am considering new heads and wondering how much power I can expect to gain.
Here's what I'm considering:
Originally I was interested in the AFR eliminator heads 180cc/64cc to make some more power within the 5500 to 6000 rpm range, but their price is a huge deterrent. So I found the Dart SHP aluminum heads 180cc/64cc. For a fully assembled head they are extremely cheap for around $600. I was wondering how much power I could expect to gain swapping my camelbacks for these or if this is even the best direction to go.
I was also thinking about putting in a new cam if I go with the dart heads since they are so reasonable. I am not an expert on these and was hoping for some advice on what would be a good combo. I am looking to keep my intake and carb setup the same.
