no spark, no fuel, no start.
i apologize in advance for the lengthy story, but hopefully it will help.
Ever since i bought the car, if i drove it for more than an hour, it would start to run bad then completely quit. after letting it sit for a little while it would start right up and be fine. a few months ago it started taking a long crank time to start, but once it did it would be fine. i know that the ignition modules int the distributer are known for being a common fualt so i swaped mine out for a new one, but still it took a while to start. then one day on my way to work it stalled without warning going down the road, as an instant reaction i put it in netural and tryed to restart it it, wich it did without a problem. not long after i clock in, im asked to run to the bank to get change for the register. the car is still warm so it fires right up. as i pull into the bank it dies and refused to start from then on.
hears what ive tested and replaced so far,
first thing i did was check for spark, nothing.
so i looked to see if the coil was getting a signal to fire, it wasn't.
then just for laugh's, i checked to see if the injectors were getting there signal to fire, they weren't either.
at this point i figured it was the ignition module i recently replaced being faulty (pcm wont fire injectors if it doesn't see a signal from the distributor) so i warranted it out, put the new one in, same thing.
so i looked deaper, the ignition moduel gets its signal from the pickup coil, and when i pulled it out, it was obviously bad, corroded and falling apart. but after changing the pickup coil i still have the same problem.
any ideas?
