esc/vats nightmare please help
esc/vats nightmare please help
OK i got the 89 firebird. With moates chip in it. And never realize that esc was not pluged in the whole time go to pull the plug to put it on modual an saw that it had pins jumped with a wire an accidently knocked it out now security light doesn't come on and no crank but power to everything. The jumper wire had three end an one resistor a 3.9k 5% . Please can somebody help me

Are you sure you're looking at the ESC module? A picture would be helpful.
I don't think the ESC module has anything to do with VATS (although I could be wrong about that). It's why I'm wondering exactly what part you're looking at.
3.9K is exactly the resistance range that the Knock Sensor runs in, so it's possible somebody rigged up a knock sensor defeat system up by the ESC module (most do it down by the sensor itself, which I've done myself from time to time as a diagnostic test for real vs. false detonation).

Its all good problem fixed and yea it was esc but esc is what caused vat by blowin the fuse. The module in my car isnt even used at all its just on the fire wall as decorations lol. As for the third connection with the resistor on the jump wire that was in the esc plug it was a dead connection
