Hi i have a rather weird problem, My dad converted an 87 camaro from a v6 to a v8 10 years ago and i inherited when he passed, well i got it running well enough to drive long distances no problem and drove it up to college where i am now and it has a v8 bored over as far as it could be with a 400 cam i believe, I dont know much about cars but i can work on them if i am told what to do, The v8 is connected to a v6 transmission dont ask it works idk even know much about why, but Today i was driving and the car was acting like it wanted to shut off when i first cranked it( it has an electric ignition and a carb) i figured it was just cold cause it had rained and if the car isnt warmed up it isnt going to run just cause it needs to warm up, well i started driving and i started losing breaking power, then i went to stop at a stop sign and i started losing breaking power pressed the breaks to the floor and got it to stop but it turned off and idk what it could be any help?
I talked to some of the people i know that know a bit a bout cars and they said it could be that it jumped time
any help would be highly appreciated this car means alot to me and im trying to restore it
