My car is a 1985 I-ROC with standard 305 engine and stock tranny...

What seems to be the problem is that the engine runs smooth and well when im on the highway or in town, but when i completely stop at a red light or a stop sign...then give it some gas, it starts to miss-fire and then totally losses power and turns off.


Could you 3rd gen master techs please help and tell me what might be wrong, that would be much appreciated.

Is the engine running hot, check engine light on or car hard to start?
Its a TPI right?
