ok guys i got a 91 z with the 5.0 tpi the issue i have now is that it wont start and run when i turn the key , it wilss start and idle real low for a couple secs then die. if i tap the pedal and give it a bit of gas it will start and stay running with my foot on the pedal. Once i get it to run a little it will be ok , then it will start idleing real low arouynd 500 nbut it wont die. Were should i start?

 

has anyone messed with the car at all? It could be a number of things like a sensor going bad. How many miles are on it? has it been properly maintained for the last few years? Does it look like anyone has ever adjusted the throttle screw on the throttle body? If the tamper resistant cap has been removed then thats a pretty good sign that someone has tried to mess with the engine in the past.

 

ya i went threw it a while back , begging of the year, put in new injectors , plugs ,wires o2 sensor, coolant senson, cat, cap rotor the whole deal , i did they reset of the iac valve and set my min idle speed as suggested. it has ran fine for me for the last 6 months ,but now this prob pops up, and is isnt throwing any codes

 

why did you have to reset the minimum idle speed? Where did you buy your parts from?

 

because the plug was knocked out and i wanted to make sure that wasnt a issue at the time . i got the fic injectors and the rest from orilleys
