MAP sensor troubles

Still working on figuring out my MAP sensor issues.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tech...r-i-think.html link to my old post.
Ok so I'm working on tracing the ground wiring, I believe that the problem is in there somewhere. Could someone explain to me a little better how the ground connects from the MAP to the CTS and then to the ECM as ground? In the shop manual it shows the same wire going to the same ECM pin (470Blk/BB6). How are the two ground wires connected and where? Is there a common failing point in this circuit somewhere? a fusable link or something like that? Also, on everyone's CTS, what color is the ground wire? my ground and signal wires are both white, and I thought that was weird. Perhaps someone botched a wire repair job at some point? I think I'm close finally... I just want to get this fixed!

Re: MAP sensor troubles

Here's a pic of what I found. What is that connection that I circled? It has black wire going in from, I assume, the MAP sensor, and comes out white to the CTS. is this how it came from the factory?
