cold start problem

Car: 86 chevy 28 camaro
Engine: 305 tpi
Transmission: 700r4
cold start problem
I have a 86 camaro 305 tpi. When it is cold out it wont start i hit it with either then it fires up. Once engine is warm it has no problem starting. Please any help?
