looking for a little help i built a 406 last spring haven't started it yet, just don't have the time... anyway i have what i estimate to be 62 cc heads, 4.155 bore "duh" used a Mr. Gasket rebuild kit so i don't know how thick the head gasket is or the piston to deck height but the pistons have a 22cc dish any help would be greatly appreciated. the pistons are speed pro cast pistons for the stock rods! thanks!

 

Well with all that extreme precision, it hardly seems worthwhile to "calculate" anything, since no matter how many decimal places a "calculation" is carried out to, it's still only as "good" as the input data; but FWIW...

With 62cc heads, 22cc dish, .050" of deck clearance (stock is .025", -.000" to +.015" or so, so I'm allowing .005" just to be sort of average-ish, plus the extra .020" of "rebuilder" clearance built into the pistons), .039" gasket:

Comes out to right at 9:1.

 

yes the heads started life as 64's but have been milled down slightly, but all in all if it stays in the 9's ill be happy, if not i guess ill probably switch to a vortec head
