Worth the trouble to put 1.94s in there if the heads off ?

2.02s would be a little much I would think ?

Oh definitely, but it really depends on a few other factors to justify the increase in size though; cam size, intake, etc...

Way too much, it would also give entirely new meaning to the term valve shroud...

Re: STOCK INTAKE valve size for 87 TPI

1.84S IT IS then. Its getting cammed and intake , runners and plenum ported as well.

Porting the head and bowl work are a no brainer with the 1.84s.

Compared to a WORLD S/R Torquer head I will be WORLDS ahead in money and

probably perform better as well compared to the torquers.

Next question...........87 TPI has about 9.3-1 compression if I member right ?

Wouldn't mind raising that to to 9.5- or 9.7 max......................?

That would be by planing the head right to slightly decrease the combustion chamber size ?

Obviously the head work would include planing the heads to smooth them up but how much to get to where I want on compression ?

That said I may be all wrong on how to raise the compression ?
