Very Annoying Humming Sound
88 transam am gta 5.0 auto
so about a month ago my car would started to make a humming noise when i would give it alittle gas ( 1,100 rpm) then stop,now it has changed. when the car is atleast going 1mph it will make a humming noise that sounds like it is coming from the front, but very hard to tell. if i am giving it gas the humming goes away, if i am just coasting without gas it hums, sitting at idle there is no humming, ive had people sit on the hood in my parking lot to see if they could hear where it is coming from but there clueless, my father swears when hes sitting in the pass seat he can feel it on his feet vibrating but i cant. any ideas what could cause it to hum when the car is moving without gas?

How's the motor mounts? Is the exhaust system touching the underbody anywhere?

Might be your fuel pump,they hum naturally.

You don't have any poly mounts on the car do you? they transmit MUCH more vibration than a rubber mount
