what am i missing from my block
hi
can any one tell me what im missing from this hole on my block.
it has a thread and runs into the water jacket on the left side of the block. been thought all my boxes of stuff just cant seem to remember.
oh the blocks out of a 89 trans am gta

It's not supposed to go into the water jacket. It should be blind.
It's not the dipstick hole either, since that's on the pass side of a 638 block.
Nothing goes there in these cars. It used to be for the Z-bar pivot ball for mechanical clutch linkage in some chassis.
If it leaks, put a short bolt in it with some sealer on the threads.
I'd STRONGLY recommend getting rid of that steel plug in the drain hole, and replacing it with brass.
I'm not feeling very fuzzy about the cyl walls in that block. Looks like it should have been bored.

Looks like your missing a proper cyl boring job and some black paint.
The hole is for mechanical clutch linkage on older cars.
