Hi guys! New member here, I've been lurking for a while but I thought this might be the time to post.

I dont have a Third Gen F-body however my brother scored a 1989 Caprice, with the all too common L03.

He wants to upgrade, a friend of ours led us to a 1988 Chevy 350 Vin 6 engine with Th700r4 for just $250, its 100% complete.

But my question is, I can't find any info on this engine anywhere. I mean I know it sounds ridiculous to say but I can't find specs on compression, block casting numbers and so on..

Will it have a 5.7 cast on the back pad like the 5.0 does? I dont want to get boned and pick up another 5.0. Thanks for your help in advance

Look at the area in front of pass. side head, there should be #s stamped there. If theres a bracket in the way you might have to remove it.
