Rock Auto had them last year. Now I can't find a source for them anywhere.

Have you looked in the "HELP" section of the parts store?

I would imagine that a check valve off of just about any car would do the trick of preventing the juice from draining back into the bottle. If you are worried about aesthetics, the valve is located in a not-to-obvious location if I recall.

HEY! Why are you washing your windows with the wipers? Your baby wants you to clean the windows personally.

LOL! I just like everything working properly. If I don't find one, I'll either repair the one that's on there with epoxy or something, (it's cracked in half), or just eliminate it. It must have been replaced by a previous owner, since it's half pink and half blue.

Since I have a rear washer/wiper, I have two OE valves, both of which are half pink and half green. I'd suggest that nearly any bone yard car would have one in place--unless used isn't an option.

Thanks James. I just went to look, it is pink and green.

I'd take a used one, if I could find one.

Oh, one more thing, James. This checkvalve is only on my '85, not the other two. Now that you've confirmed this an OEM piece, I think I'm just going to try and repair it.

Never knew that GM put a check valve on the WW line. Learn something new everyday.

Would a vacuum line check valve work? If so here is the GM/AcDelco number for it:

14047619

Hey, me neither, until I saw this leaky pink and green thing on my yellow IROC.

Originally they didn't, but customers complained it took too long to clear the windshield after mud or something splashed on it. IIRC first there was a recall to reroute the hose to prevent it from draining back and later the check valve was added.

Re: Where can you buy a windshield washer checkvalve?

I don't use the wipers, front or rear, so though I have the check valve(s), the fluid drains. In order to pump fluid, I have to prime. A mouthful of windshield wiper fluid is distasteful at the very least.

Interesting, I'd imagined that all cars were so equipped.

The first pic is the rear wiper valve, the second the front.

So the pink/green check valve was added during a recall and not at the factory? Interesting.

Interesting. My '82 had it.

As for my "HELP" suggestion, I had forgotten that I had looked, and ended up getting a tube of Super Glue to fix mine. Sorry.

Yup, I'm fixing mine. Where could you possibly find a pink/green period thingamajig like that? I was thinking epoxy, but super glue would do the trick.
