Re: 383 build

i was going to go with a base rotating kit with hyperutectic pistons and cast crank but after reading your posts Im not so sure. i spoke to two shops and both said the most budget minded parts will be fine for what Im looking for. i see short blocks rated to 550 with cast cranks and forged pistons but they tried to talk me out of those b/c its a street motor without nos. i also see alot of builds with forged cranks and hyper pistons.

Re: 383 build

The last one I built for myself the parts list goes like this.Howards crank,I-Con pistons,Scat stroke clearanced ARP bolt rods.I am very confident of a good mixture of parts even with a minor shot of nitrous and spinning up as high as needed.

With all this "deals" on lower dollar parts going on,the expectation of the same results, guys think I am suggesting high dollar parts and when in reality they are better quality mid of the road pricing that has huge advantages.

Never and I mean never have I suggested Wisco pistons, titanium rods,Compstar knife edged crankshafts.

Check out the vendor review section and the thread I left for SBC builders-need a break.
Nor never have I suggested a 632 BBC.
