Stalling in gear?
I have a 1983 Crossfire Trans Am, when the car is in park, it idles fine. When I come to a stoplight or am sitting for a few minutes, the idle drops to around 500 and dips, occasionally stalling the engine. When it dips, the engine tries to bring the idle back up, but eventually it just falls back down to the same RPMs.
It was driven daily by the owner I bought it from, stored (and maintained) for 10 years by the owner before him. I changed all fluids, fixed a number of vacuum hoses (not sure if I missed any) It leaks a bit, not much, and I can't really identify where from.
This is my first third gen, and I really want to get her at least in comfortable driving condition, so I can start focusing on aesthetics.
Any ideas what could be going on?

Re: Stalling in gear?
I'll give it a shot in the morning, and let you know what the outcome is.
There was a vacuum hose heading to the EGR valve from the back of the front tb that I had reconnected (didn't realize it was unhooked) then the fluxuation in RPMs got worse, and it dies in park. I took it back off and nothing.. it didn't change a thing. It stayed worse than it was, and when I give it gas, the engine shakes violently. (mounts are good) still dies a few cycles of up and down with the RPMs
I definitely will check the EGR and IACs, but can they really cause something this dramatic?

Re: Stalling in gear?
I pulled one of the IACs today and this is what it looked like. (Couldn't get the other one because I'm not at home and don't have the right wrench) Is this an excess amount of carbon? I'm sure the other one is equally as nasty.
Vacuum tested the EGR and it seems fine.
Am I supposed to relatively easily be able to pull/push the pintle in/out?
