getting a new 350 started
82 camaro with lg4 originally. i rebuilt a 350 4 bolt with 224/230 @ 50 cam, dart aluminum 72cc chamber/200 cc runner heads, edelbrock dualplane rpm air gap intake, edelbrock 1406 4barrel 600 cfm carb, no ecu/wiring, and mech/vac advance HEI dizzy. New plugs/wires. It started right up the first try but i had to shut her down because of leaks(loose coolant line clamp at the firewall) After that she was hard to start but i got it again. I set the timing at 0 degrees and she idled for a minute or 2 then slowly died. Best i can figure is i need some sort of advanced timing probably because of the cam. However i cant get her to start again no matter where i turn the dizzy. Is it clockwise for advanced timing or counter clockwise? Last time i attempted to fire it up a tiny bit of fire came out of the carb so i was thinking its probably too advanced now.
