Tick Tock
Here is my story, I changed spark plugs wires and distributor in my car. After timing the car there appears to be a knocking going on, I am pretty sure it was not there prior to this job however I am not sure as I can retard the timing and get the knocking to go away but the car is not responsive and this may be what the dude did that sold me the car to get rid of his problem. on to the rest of the story I played around with it again and discover that when timing the car I unplug the brown/black wire and set it to zero and the knocking is not there then I plug the wire back in knocking still not there...shut the car off, start it up and knock knock (whos there) is back again.

Re: Tick Tock
Try running 91/93 octane fuel. Oh is it an actual knock or a miss. Pull distributor cap off and see how it looks inside. Cap and rotor should get changed with plugs and wires.

Re: Tick Tock
It was said but uncertain that possibility that the main bearing went out so for that I am going to remove the oil filter and take it to the motor man so he can cut it apart and see if there is any evidence of that. If that clears the test I am going to put the old distributor in for S&G's to see if possibly it is related. It just seems strange that it does not knock with the EST disconnected. but once I shut the car off and restart it (with EST reconnected) the knock comes back. Hopefully someone can provide me with there thoughts on this by morning in case what I plan on doing does not give me answers.

Re: Tick Tock
Id still try a full tank of 91 or higher octane fuel and readjust timing to see if it changes.
