Odd reading after changing parts...

Please give your thoughts.

Changed my EGR, O2 sensor, temp sender (drv head), and air filter.

Before doing this (past three years) it ran at about 190 to 195 (195 thermostat). First drive today it is running around 220* idle/red light and going down the street at 45mph. Sitting at red light it edges up a little. Its only about 80 today so that should not affect it

On an 89 TPI is the temp sender also the temp sensor? Thinking if it is then it may be sending a different signal but really is at old temp.

BTW, car runs great. Not overheating as in water coming out. running 50/50.

To the best of my knowledge , the sender in the driver's side cyl head is the one for the gauge , and that would explain the different gauge readings (no two senders are ever 100% exactly alike) . The one that runs the electric fan for the radiator is in the passenger's side head , and the one that tells the computer the coolant's temp is mounted in the lower intake manifold . I don't believe you change anything "tune wise" (as in trying to get the computer to run richer or leaner based upon coolant temperature) by changing the gauge sender because it has no connection to the computer . The sender in the L.I.M. and the ambient air temp sender are the only two that the P.C.M. uses to determine fuel ratio per operating condition ....

Well crap. I can move it to the intake and put the one back in the head. I don't trust them now that I see that big of difference - unless they are rated different outputs.
