its your fusible link, do a search for the issue here its been repaired, i myself had to do it on two separate thirdgens now, they're old, and get brittle from the heat of the engine/exhaust being so close, then they break, patch it with similarly gauged wire

i'll have to look at my wiring diagram but i believe the orange one is your ignition switch, if you have no dash lights or ding when you turn the key, its either that or the ignition switch, although i don't believe the ign switch is a very common problem with these cars follow it as far as you can to the firewall, if you don't find any breaks at all then buy a new ign switch from autozone advanced ect, try it, if its not your problem then return it and get your money back and start looking for broken wires/loose grounds. as i said before do a search on this forum this issues has been had by many members

I get the temptation to replace failed fuse wire with regular wire but the fuse link is the only protection on these circuits from a short circuit that could cause a fire. The fuse wire is a little more pricey but it's worth using. Also, if you find the fuse links are good at the starter, don't forget to look at C100. It's the main bulkhead connector at the firewall. The terminals in this connector can become damaged from the steady high current that they see. Look for power at both sides of terminals G5 and A4. G5 is lighting, A4 is ignition switch battery power. Do you have factory wiring diagrams for the car? If not, you should find some.

i'm not saying replace the whole wire, just join it back together with wire like i did after cutting off the black burned part that isn't any good anymore
