How much HP before considering upgrading stock fuel pump? (fuel inj)

Just lost the pump in my '89 TA. I'm also at the point of rebuilding the motor to make some more power.
I have an LT1 and plan on trickflow heads and possibly stroking it to 383..

A stock replacement here gets me a Bosch fuel pump but I'm wondering at what point should I consider a higher volume pump?

Thanks.

I am interested in this as well! I would like to know for what I could bump my nitrous up to.

I'd say go ahead and throw a Walbro 255 in there and call it a day. I'm sure a healthy, aftermarket-headed 383 LT1 will thank you for it!

I believe its rated at 150 lph. A 255 lph pump supports 600 hp. A 150 should do 400. Some say 450, as 150 lph is close to 248 lbs /hr fuel and by calculations you get a theoretical max of 475-500 hp but that seems optimistic to me. Also assumes 100% duty cycle on injectors. 400-450 is abit more realistic and you maybe within that realm of power with a 383

Thanks.. sounds like I'll play it safe and upgrade.. Always good to check, often bigger doesn't always mean better or is necessary.

I actually ran my Walbro 255 with my stock TBI 305 motor for a couple of years because I knew I would be putting a 355 Tuned Port motor in soon. The stock TBI fuel pressure regulator kept the pressure where it needed to be, even with the high pressure/high volume pump, so it wasn't a problem.
