My 88 had the same problems when I first got it, it was sitting for a long time too, mine ended up being a chunk of burnt/ chewed wires under the dash, when turning the key on, there was no initial pulse from the injectors for start up. The previous owner had done their own wiring for radio or electric fans, overloaded it somehow I guess. I'm no expert, but a new under the dash wiring harness and a few fixed wires and she was back in business. Hope this helps

My first advice is quit replacing parts until you pinpoint the problem. Have you verified power to the injectors? With the key on, you should get 12 volts at both sides of each injector. You can just check one on each side since they are divided into two banks. Then, make sure that you get a flashing light on one side of an injector while cranking. Again you can just check one injector one each bank. Check the injector fuses for power on both sides and be sure that the connection of the 4 pin distributor connector is solid. The purple and white wire is crank reference to the ECM and that's the signal that the ECM uses to fire the injectors. Have you verified fuel pressure to be 40psi at the rails?
