what could.this be?

Hi my fellow camaro lover's,

Don't know what this could be other than it maybe needs a tune-up?

When I am letting off the gas peddle and I get down to about 30 mph, the engine will Rev up and then go back to normal and Rev up again and 2 more times than it's fine.when I'm in drive without giving it gas, the car takes off by itself and stay at about 10 mph?

Could this be an idle issue?vacuum leak?

Also one other question, when I first start the car up, light blue smoke comes out of the exhaust and than clears up?valve?

Any help would be great, I know a little bit about cars, but not as much as I would like to know...I'm learning slowly.

Thanks guys.

Sounds vacuum related. Is it more common to happen when you hit the brake pedal?

Both, when I let off the throttle and when I brake...it's like the engine is to powerful to slow down.its hard to explain.

Get what I'm sayin?

Re: what could.this be?

Yes. I've never dealt with it when letting off the throttle but a large enough vacuum leak will cause the car to "pull" on it's own. I can tell you from experience with a bad brake booster, when I hit the brakes it would accelerate. It can be quiet a few things causing it though; booster, iac, egr or anything else that is vacuum related with any sort of check valve inside.

Re: what could.this be?

Thank you for your time zraffz,

Yes, I do believe you are right, I am gonna take it to my mechanic instead of me leasing with it, I stick to basic maintenance, messing with the engine could create more problems and result in more money loss.lol

Thank you again man.
