Corroded distubutor any good?
Hi, is my dizzy ok? It's quite heavily corroded.
Basically struggling to run my car on base timing (2degrees). Over the past few months its been randomly mis-firing and hunting in revs. Now I'm pretty sure I have no air leaks, plugs and leads are new. Have pictures of my dizzy too.
Just this dizzy is alittle different to what I'm use too and never see. Corrosion inside a dizzy before like this? Ohh an there is no play in the shaft.

Also noticed the outer sheathing has broken on these wires.
Thanks, Carl.

Re: Corroded distubutor any good?
Does it rotate smoothly or is it catchy? See any cracks by the rivits?
Drive the roll pin out of the lower gear, take it all apart and clean it up with a small wire brush. There is a dot machined in 1 side of the gear and I think it points to the side the rotor would point to.
Also ohm check and replace the pickup coil if needed.
If it looks nasty when cleaned up maybe replace it for peace of mind.
