HEI DISTRIBUTOR ???

First in advance I am new to this forum and appreciate all the wealth of information I am finding. I have recently purchased a 86 T/A LG4 . the person before me installed a holley 650 DP with the stock distributor and as you all know you can never get it tuned correctly. I am wanting to change to a HEI dist but as I search the different websights such as accel, mallory and MSD they don't appear to offer one for my application. What is everyone else running for carbed setups? Sorry if there is a post on this but I looked and couldn't find anything specific.

Re: HEI DISTRIBUTOR ???

you will want to use a vacume advance HEI if you are not using the "CCC" ECM controlled carb/distributor setup-vacume advance HEI was stock on '75-80 SBC cars and pickups from ~1975-85. The stock centrifugal advance curve on these "smog era"original applications may not be optimal for performance, but modifying the centrifugal advance is easy.

Thanks "8t2" I found one on ROCKAUTO but was made by "cardone" but I was looking for a better quality one. So you feel if I search for one on MSD's website for those years that I could use one of those?
